Self esteem is vital for all humans. It's how we value and view ourselves. Having high self esteem can help you accomplish anything. Life is very hard sometimes. Going through a lot of hard times and having a lot of negative experiences and making it out, has taught me how to gain the self esteem I have now. So I would like to share with you some tips and things I practice to boost my self esteem:
1)Give yourself daily affirmations- This one may sound silly but compliment yourself! Find something about yourself, try not to focus on looks, but something that you know is true about yourself. Such as 'I am a good mother' or 'I am really good at my job'. Get in the habit of complimenting yourself daily.
2)Switch your way of thinking- This one is so very important in gaining confidence and self esteem. Stop negative thinking. For example, If you think 'Could this day get any worse?' It will get worse because you are sending that negative energy out into the world. If you can retrain your brain into turning all your negative thoughts into positive thoughts about yourself, others and the world in general, it can change your life. Next time a negative thought comes into your mind, stop it and replace it with a positive thought.
3) Check your motives- If your only having positive thoughts and a good attitude so you can gain something that will hurt yourself or others, nothing good will happen to you.
4)Learn from your mistakes- A mistake doesn't mean your a failure. Learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them.If necessary forgive yourself and definitely don't let the past consume you. Move on.
5)List at least 10 - 20 positive affirmations about yourself. Look at it when your feeling down or your day isn't going as planned. Over time you can add more to the list. It's wonderful to send positive energy to the world, but it's necessary to give it to yourself.
I hope you found my tips helpful. If you have any tips on how you boost your self esteem list them below.
A very well written expression. You are wise beyond your years.

DeleteSome really great tips in there! I know I don't have trouble with self esteem, more so I work on being a better person or staying fit for myself. Not really what other people think. But I struggle with self confidence, and I think these tips work either way. Thanks for sharing :)
