Everyone has bad days, or if you're like me you go through periods of days where it seems nothing goes right.Or maybe you've just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Try these 5 simple practices and your mood will instantly change.
Stop Criticizing- Thinking or saying critical things about others is an instant mood kill. Even if you don't say it and you just think it. It doesn't hurt or affect the other person, it hurts us. Next time, a critical thought runs through your mind, stop yourself.
Compliment- Compliment at least one person every day. But be genuine, don't say it to just be saying it. Not only will it make you feel better but it will make someone else's day.
Be Helpful- If you have a friend or family member who needs a helping hand, offer yours. Next time you have a friend in need offer to help them. It makes you feel good to help out your fellow mankind.
Say No- Don't let people can take advantage of your kindness. If you find yourself taking every extra minute doing favors for people, say no. It's great to help people but it's very important for us to have time for ourselves to maintain our inner balance. You should take at least two days a week to have time to do things you enjoy. Don't be afraid to say no. After all, your friend or relative who is constantly asking for the favors has other friends they can ask to help them out.
Be Thankful- I saw this wonderful tip on the Dr. Oz show, email yourself one thing that you are thankful for each day. Save these emails in a folder. When things are not going good at home or work, look at these emails and it will instantly make your situation better.
Let me know if you tried these tips and how they worked for you.
