Lancome Review

Spring has finally arrived! I don't know about you but I start looking forward to Spring as soon as Christmas is over. There's nothing that makes me happier than sunshine, flowers blooming and perfect 75 degree weather. As warmer weather arrives we ditch our bulky sweaters, heavy boots, and hues of reds and browns for breezy blouses, floral prints and brighter shades of corals and pinks. Also as the seasons change, us beauty girls look forward to  new collections from Mac, Urban Decay, Stilla, Clinique and everywhere in between. As you know, I am a skin care junkie. I am a firm believer that the only way to perfect a makeup look is to perfect your skin.  I was on the verge of running out of serum when I received an e-mail from Influenster that I was receiving a box from Lancome Paris. Strange, since seconds before that I had just added Lancome's Genifique Serum to my shopping cart on Sephora. The stars must have perfectly aligned in my favor! Needless to say I

Monthly Subscription Service Reviews By now, I'm sure all of you have heard of if not tried at least one Beauty subscription boxes.  The deal is, you pay a monthly fee to have a curated package of beauty products delivered via mail to your door once a month. Depending on the company, the price range is between $10-$25.  I started my love for beauty subscription boxes almost 6 years ago. Since then I have been a subscriber to 8 different boxes.  It's something I always look forward to every month! Usually these boxes ship out during the middle of the month so I am always looking forward to them around that time. And, most companies send out an email when your box has shipped with a tracking number.  If your new to the beauty box world or thinking about expanding and trying a new box, here is my roundup and review of the beauty boxes that I have tried.  Birchbox Cost: $10 Birchbox was the first beauty box that I ever subscribed to(I believe that it was th

Love Beauty and Planet Review

I have a confession,  I am not the type of person who shops for eco-friendly beauty products. I know it's unheard of in this day and age but in my defense I feel like their is not enough green beauty products on the market.  But there  is a new brand that has been launched that is not only eco-friendly but they only use organic, natural, vegan ingredients with no dyes, parabens, sulfates, silicones, and is not tested on animals. Let me introduce you to Love Beauty & Planet. Love Beauty & Planet was started by group of like minded people who believe that looking good and doing good should go hand-in-hand. Makes sense right? And it's about time that we have a brand on the market that share theses goals with like minded consumers.  All of their gorgeous products are naturally derived. That’s because they use lots of organic goodness & always source from sustainable growers across the world in place like, France, Morocco, and Australia. Plus, they promote fair

Make-up tips for wearing glasses

I've always hated wearing glasses.  My face is small so it's hard for me to find a pair that makes does not make my eyes get lost behind them. The key is to find a pair that will enhance you're facial features and bring attention to your specs. I've also had qualms about how to style an outfit and hair with glasses(which apparently there's no wrong answer).  I was stumped on the do's and don'ts of make-up with glasses!  I love wearing lots of eye makeup, but I knew that wearing too much wouldn't look so great under glasses. And since my eyes are usually the feature that I play up when applying cosmetics, I was stumped.  But thankfully after googling and reading for hours on how to master this, I will share with you some of my new found wisdom and some photo inspiration via Pinterest: When it comes to shadow, the lighter and more neutral the color on the lid, the better, dark shades will, agnify dark undertones around the eyes, causing th

Favorite books of 2017

Since I could remember, I've always loved books. One of my favorite memorys is sitting on my Grandfather's lap while he read me a bedtime story at night. I've always been an avid reader. I'm the type of person that prefers books to TV/movies. Since my oldest son was born, i've read to him and my youngest son as well, so now they share my love of books. The last few years I've spent a lot of time reading classics and memoirs. But this past year I've seemed to pick up more newly released books. I also became a member of the social media networking site GoodReads so I seen a lot of books my friends were reading and recommended. Every time I read and finished a new book, I logged it into GoodReads to keep track of how much I read this year(39 books!). With so many unforgettable characters and stories, it was hard to chose my favorites of the year. But the way I chose my favorites is by the stories and characters that I'll never forget and by which bo

Best Fragrances of 2017

I am such a Perfume junkie. I change fragrances with clothes, moods, seasons and events. I've always felt like Perfume is a luxury that women should spoil their selves with. I love giving perfumes to my friends, family, co-workers, neighbors(you get the picture). And my favorite gift is always perfume(hint-hint)! Every department store visit, I head to the fragrance counter before I check out anything else to see what's new(Yes fragrance  girl, you can give me a spritz).  Ok, now that  you get the idea of how deep my relationship with perfume is.  2017 has been a great year for the fragrance industry. I thought long and hard and I really can't remember trying a scent that I didn't like. From new releases from beloved favorite brands, Gucci Bloom, Victor & Rolf Magic, Tom Ford Oud Minerale to new fragrences from Diptyque Eau des Sens, Jo Malone London Jade Leaf Tea Cologne, and Atelier Cologne CafĂ© Tuberosa.  It was a struggle to find my top 5 favorite scent
