La Vie Est Belle, Chanel and Ebay

First off, let's have all take a moment of silence to remember Chanel...and what it used to be.  Chanel used to be an icon for class and sophistication. First, they had their models wear sneakers in their runway shows, and now they have enlistied Kristen Stewart to be their new face!? I first saw this story on  Blush and Blonde  now it's everywhere. How sad. So enough ranting, my week has been great. my I spent all week going through my friends and my clothes for new business venture. Originally, I planned on starting my own online consignment website but after researching what a hassle it would be, I decided to go with eBay . I've put items on Poshmark  but I don't think many things sell on their, mostly users want to trade items. What auction sites would you recommend? I'm so ecstatic, I've reached almost 100 followers on bloglovin! Thank you for the love :) I hope everyone has a wonderful week!  And as always, thank you for reading! Xo Summer

Lovin' this look: tribal inspired jewelry

tribal inspired jewelry by summeredmonds featuring gold jewelry Tribal inspired Jewelry is huge this year. I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie's line, House of Harlow, so i'm especially crazy over their tribal pieces. Top shop has some gorgeous native statement necklaces and the bracelets with a ring attached. These pieces would be perfect for festival season coming up! I see myself pairing tribal jewelry this season with almost any outfit. What are your favorite tribal inspired jewelry pieces?

Favorite Fragrances

Coco Chanel said it best " A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed." I usually change fragrances as the seasons change. In the Fall/Winter months I like something with a stronger smell. But in the Spring/Summer I like something with a lighter and airy smell. Even though I often like to try something new, I have my all time favorite fragrances that I always fall back on. These 5 are my all time favorites: Favorite Fragrances by summeredmonds featuring a rose fragrance 1)Ralph by Ralph Lauren: This is my all time favorite perfume. I first got this as a graduation present when I finished high school. It's a floral fragrance with a hint of green apple, orange mandarin, magnolia, freesia and soft  musk. It's been almost 8 years since I graduated High School and I still wear it and get lots of compliments on it. 2)Glow by J.LO: I usually don't like celebrity fragrances or celebrity endorsed fragrances but Glow is the exception. It s

Style Icon: Sophia Loren

Before Sophia Vergara, there was Sophia Loren.  Sophia Loren is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She has a beautiful face, wonderful bone structure, perfectly arched eyebrows, full lips and curves for days. Men obviously love her too. She placed sixth in  Playboy 's 100 Sexiest Women Of The Century feature!  I first saw Sophia in the 1995 movie, Grumpier Old Men where she played Walter Mattheus love interest, Maria Sophia Coletta Ragetti. And ever since then, she's been my style icon.  From the glamorous dresses, sexy body fitting dresses, to the over sized floppy hats, and to her sky high heels.  At the age of 80, she is still just as beautiful as ever. Everything you see I owe to spaghetti. -Sophia Loren  You have to enjoy life. Always be surrounded by people that you like, people who have a nice conversation. There are so many positive things to think about. -Sophia Loren  Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. I

Instant Mood Boosters

Everyone has bad days, or if you're like me you go through periods of days where it seems nothing goes right.Or maybe you've just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Try these 5 simple practices and your mood will instantly change.  Stop Criticizing - Thinking or saying critical things about others is an instant mood kill. Even if you don't say it and you just think it. It doesn't hurt or affect the other person, it hurts us. Next time, a critical thought runs through your mind, stop yourself. Compliment - Compliment at least one person every day. But be genuine, don't say it to just be saying it. Not only will it make you feel better but it will make someone else's day. Be Helpful - If you have a friend or family member who needs a helping hand, offer yours. Next time you have a friend in need offer to help them. It makes you feel good to help out your fellow mankind. Say No - Don't let people can take advantage of your kindness. If you find your

St. Patricks Day, First day of Spring, and oh what a busy week

What a busy week it's been in our home! My mom had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday so I spent all week going back and forth to the hospital helping her. She did so well the doctor released her on Friday.  Monday was St Patrick's day, although I'm not of Irish descent I did wear green. Thursday was the first day of spring. It's been such a beautiful week in the bluegrass state. Hopefully our days of snow are long gone! I am beyond ready for some sunshine. I took the kids with me Saturday to do a little retail therapy and they were perfect little angels! Sometimes they get fussy and bored in stores but I was so proud of them on how well behaved they were. But, I ended up with a maxi dress, a sleeveless sheer button up top, and another peplum shirt. What did everyone think about Kim and Kanye gracing the April Issue of Vogue? And what about H&M's Spring 2014 collection featuring Miranda Kerr? Thanks for reading! xo  Summer

I love Jumpsuits! They look good on virtually anyone. Plus, they add length and make you look leaner. You can pair them with heals or flats. Wear prints for a fun day time look and solid colors for night. My favorite this year is the denim jumpsuit by Guess. Bebe and BCBG have some great jumpsuits out too. Thrift store shopping, Catching Fire, and rice crispy treats

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! The hubby and I spent our Saturday thrift store shopping. I love looking for vintage fashion and inspiration for home decor. Unfortunately we didn't find anything this time. Sunday we spent the day lazing around watching movies. We finally got to watch the Hunger Games Catching Fire. I am a huge Hunger games fan. I read all the books as soon as they were published. I did however manage to make some rice crispy treats for the boys.  I poured white chocolate candy coating on top for extra yum and put star sprinkles for the cuteness factor. Yummy! My mommy is having hip replacement surgery on Tuesday. So I will be there for her as much as possible and probably won't be blogging much this week. She is such a strong woman. I will keep everyone updated on her progress. Thanks for reading Angels! xo Summer I'm wearing my new favorite drugstore finds Wet n Wild eye shadow in 'i'm getting sunburned' and Har

Self Esteem tips

Self esteem is vital for all humans. It's how we value and view ourselves. Having high self esteem can help you accomplish anything. Life is very hard sometimes. Going through a lot of hard times and having a lot of  negative experiences and making it out, has taught me  how to gain the self esteem I have now. So I would like to share with you some tips and things I practice to boost my self esteem: 1)Give yourself daily affirmations- This one may sound silly but compliment yourself! Find something about yourself, try not to focus on looks, but something that you know is true about yourself. Such as 'I am a good mother' or 'I am really good at my job'. Get in the habit of complimenting yourself daily. 2)Switch your way of thinking- This one is so very important in gaining confidence and self esteem. Stop negative thinking. For example, If you think 'Could this day get any worse?' It will get worse because you are sending that negative energy out

Kim K looks of 2014

Givenchy  designer  Riccardo Tisci says Kim Kardashian is the 'Marilyn Monroe of our age".  Whether you  love her or loathe her, we all can agree on one thing. Her style and taste in fashion is impeccable.  And she's undeniably drop dead gorgeous( woman crush anyone?). Perfect Imperfections

Fall in love with yourself and your imperfections. Make a list of 3 of your flaws, things you don't like about yourself. You can literally write it on a piece of paper or make a note in your head.  Mine are, my big ears, my big forehead and my heighth. When I was a kid, other children at school used to make fun of my big ears calling me dumbo etc. I always wear big earings to try to hide my huge ears. Almost everyone in my family has big ears, its definatly a family flaw that I have inerited. I used to always try to have some sort of bangs to try to cover up my forehead, and when I took selfies I used to try to cut out the top of my forehead becaucause it is so large.  Lastly, my heighth. I'm only 5'4. When I was 16, a talent scount for a modeling agency aproached me and gave me her card. I was so flattered and excited to start modeling. They signed me but I never got any jobs because of my height. So ever since then I have been super self conscouse about being short

Spring Forward

I hope everyone had a fabulous Monday! If your like me, I got up this morning and thought 'Oh my, I can't believe I slept this late'! Then I remembered the time change. So hopefully this time change didn't have you too confused. In my part of the world, here in Kentucky. We had a beautiful sunny and warm day. Spring is right around the corner, so we should be seeing more and more beautiful days.    Everywhere I went today I got so many compliments on my new BCBG earrings. I love big earrings and statement jewelry! These are defiantly my new favorite earrings, with all the different colors they will go with anything. So with the new time change, I hope everyone remembers not only to 'spring forward' but to be 'fashion forward'. xo Summer
